Hi! I'm Zara.

One day, I realized that as a homeschooler, I was living in a state of overwhelm, exhaustion, doubt... and general stress. I was busy all the time, but never quite sure what we had accomplished. I wasn't ever really satisfied that I was doing "enough," or doing it "right." My insecurity meant that I was constantly looking for new, bright and shiny "solutions." And, what's worse, no matter how many new things I tried, I ended up overwhelmed, exhausted, and doubtful all over again.

Oftentimes, even more so than I had been in the beginning.

I knew that this way of homeschooling was not sustainable, much less the enjoyable experience I had envisioned. Something had to change.

What if I could be really clear and confident in our homeschool? What if I could make homeschooling simple and straight-forward? What if we could have free time, and enjoy simple pleasures? What if it wasn't about the stuff, but instead, it was about the system, the process, and the mindset?

And so Minimalist Homeschooling was born. The book "Minimalist Homeschooling" was published in 2017, and since then, thousands of homeschoolers have learned the way to simplify while adding focus and value to their homeschools via the one-of-a-kind Simple is the New Smart Membership, the book, and my speaking engagements throughout the United States.

WHAT IF I'M BRAND-NEW TO HOMESCHOOLING?

Starting our homeschool journey with a clear and confident road-map is the best gift we can give our children. You will find not only a step-by-step guide for designing your homeschool from scratch to completion, but also tons of resources for all the questions you are sure to have along the way!
WHAT IF I HAVE BEEN HOMESCHOOLING FOR A WHILE ALREADY?

No matter where you are in your homeschool journey, if you're looking to simplify and streamline; feel successful and confident; do less and gain more; or end the self-doubt or exhaustion, then you're in the right place. Many of our members are veteran homeschoolers who have tried all sorts of tips and tricks, but were still tired of feeling so busy, yet uncertain. An intentional homeschool refresh and mindset shift can transform any homeschool - new or old.
WHAT IF I HAVE ALREADY READ THE BOOK? IS THERE ANYTHING NEW HERE?

Yes! There are many new things here! While the Minimalist Homeschooling Master Class is based on the book, the class takes the process further with additional insights, video tutorials, and reworked and new worksheets. Plus, all of the other tools and resources inside the membership portal like podcasts, printables, mini-courses, Q&A sessions... are exclusive to this membership only. You won't find those in the book.
WHAT IF I'M TRYING TO WORK AND HOMESCHOOL?

Welcome! Together with my husband, we own 3 separate businesses. You can absolutely have a full life, a full heart, and homeschool! In fact, simplifying and streamlining via the Minimalist Homeschooling process was born out of my necessity to both homeschool, and meet additional obligations. You always have time for the most important things, and I'd love to show you exactly how.
WHAT IF I'M NOT ON FACEBOOK?

The Simple is the New Smart Facebook Community is NOT a requirement to get the benefits of the Membership. While many people benefit from sharing their success and struggles with a community of like-minded peers, you will NOT miss any of Zara's content if you do not join the facebook group. There are comment sections built-in to the Minimalist Homeschooling Master Class and Mini-Courses within your membership portal, so you can always see other members' thoughts, and share your own there - without Facebook.
WHAT IF I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR HOMESCHOOL YEAR?

Minimalist Homeschooling is not a prescription for a particular homeschooling philosophy, curriculum, or set of values. Rather, in the Simple is the New Smart Membership, you will learn how to use your own values as your compass, choose the best curriculum for your homeschool, and streamline any homeschooling philosophy. HOW WILL I GET ACCESS TO ALL OF THESE RESOURCES, AND FOR HOW LONG?

All of the resources are contained within one Simple is the New Smart Membership portal online. Once you join, you will receive your login and password via email. You can logon at any time of day or night to work on whatever you and your homeschool need most. You will have unlimited 24/7 access to your resources as long as you are a member. Different portions of the portal will be available to you based on your membership level, while some upper levels may appear "locked" if you are not an Expert Member.
HOW LONG IS THE MEMBERSHIP CONTRACT?

There are no long-term contracts for the Simple is the New Smart Membership. We're here to grow with you, offer new content each month for your homeschool journey, and archive that content in a place where you can access it whenever you need it most. But, if the membership isn't helping your homeschool more than your monthly java habit, cancel anytime.
